One of reservoir in the North East Java Basin that is capable of producing hydrocarbons is located in the Kujung Formation and the main target of exploration in the PM Field is Kujung I. Kujung I is composed of carbonate which has a Late Oligocene to Early Miocene age range. <br /> <br /> Reservoir characterization is an important step in studying and searching oil and gas reservoirs. Reservoir characterization involves well data and seismic data so seismic inversion method is needed to integrate the data. In reservoir characterization physical rock parameters are needed which can be used to distinguish impedance contrast due to fluid and lithological effects. One of the effective method to separate reservoir lithology and fluid is the inversion of Extend Elastic Impedance (EEI). <br /> <br /> From the EEI application, obtained parameters that are sensitive to lithological changes that have good reservoir quality and fluids are E-Rho and Lambda-Rho * Poisson's Ratio. Each of these parameters is represented by EEI (78 o) and EEI (-26o). Then methods of inversion applied to this formation to determine the distribution of carbonates containing hydrocarbons. This research conduct model based and linear programming sparse spike inversion and then merge both inversion result to optimalize the inversion result. <p align="justify"> text |
