DETERMINATION OF SUBSURFACE STRUCTURE OF MOUNT TANGKUBAN PERAHU AND SURROUNDING AREA USING MAGNETIC METHOD

Volcanoes have the potential of geothermal resources that can be utilized as an alternative energy source to meet Indonesia's energy needs. Geophysical methods is one method that plays a role in exploring geothermal resources. Geophysical surveys are used to determine the subsurface or field st...

Geophysical methods is one method that plays a role in exploring geothermal resources. Geophysical surveys are used to determine the subsurface or field structure of the research. In this final project, the research was conducted on Tangkuban Perahu and surrounding areas using magnetic method to obtain sub-surface magnetic variation. From the results of processing that has been done, the magnetic value obtained ranged from 43000 nT - 45800 nT. The corrected magnetic anomalies range from -1600 nT - 500 nT where negative values show alleged geothermal area. Susceptibility value of magnetic anomalies in the alleged geothermal area of the CD trajectory is -0.036 cgs and interpreted as clay layer. This layer of rock is at a depth of ± 600 m from the surface to a depth of 800 m. Clay can be interpreted as caprock. When compared, the alleged geothermal area of the Mag2dc model is at a depth of ± 600 m - ± 800 m and located at a distance between 3000 m - 4000 m while in the CSAMT the alleged geothermal area is located at a depth of ± 600 m - ± 900 m and distance of 3000 m - 4000 m. The result of modeling the subsurface structure of Mount Tangkuban Perahu and its surroundings is closest to CSAMT inversion result that is model of cross section of CD trajectory. text
