The maximum use of BHT according to BPOM RI is 75 – 200 mg/kg with ADI (aceptable daily intake) 0 – 0,5 mg/kg body weight. The common methodes used in measuring BHT are HPLC, GC-MS, and spectrophotometry. However, measurements using these methodes require a long time and are relatively expensive. Therefore, a development of BHT determination methode using voltammetric techniques with a modified carbon paste electrode is needed. Modification is done by electropolymerization of methyl orange as a monomer and BHT as a template. The effect of number of electropolymerization cycles, the composition of methyl orange and BHT, and the pH of the solution was studied to obtain the optimum measurement condition. BHT was measured at a pH of 2, with a good linearity at concentration range 0,2 mM – 4 mM. The limit detection of BHT using this methode is 4,24 μM and the recovery percentage is 103,7%. text
