Workers fatigue can be caused by environmental factors and workload, so if both factors can be controlled, we can make a safe and comfortable working environment and also prevent accidents. This research will evaluate the relationship between heat stress index using humidex method and workload to workers fatigue level in the underground mining area PT. Dwinad Nusa Sejahtera which the results can be used as a consideration in the making of policy to prevent accidents. This research will be done by measuring working environment such as Temperature and relative humidity to know humidex, workload and miner’s fatigue level. Working environment condition in the underground gold mine of PT. Dwinad Nusa Sejahtera is in hot and humid condition. Work climate measurement result show that wet temperature average are 30.0±1.2oC, dry temperature average are 31.5±1.0oC, globe temperature average are 31.3±1.0oC and relative humidity average are 91.4±4.8%. Heat stress index calculation show that wet bulb globe average are 30.4±1.1oC and humidex average are 53.5±2.9. Multivariate analysis of miner’s fatigue level in all activity group shows that humidex variable give bigger effects than workload variable text |
