Based on RTRWN No. 26 of 2008, Bandung Regency be appointed as a National Strategic Area because consists of areas that have potential to encourage economic in the surrounding area. PDAM Tirta Raharja is responsible for drinking water services in Bandung Regency. However, one of the problems with drinking water in Bandung Regency is low of service coverage area. Therefore, it is necessary to develop new SPAM to fulfill drinking water requirement. SPAM Gambung will be built to comply drinking water requirement that corresponding with quality and continuity standards in Soreang District (Sadu Village), Kutawaringin (Padasuka and Kopo Village), Katapang (Katapang, Sangkanhurip, and Panguaban Village), and District Margahayu. Based on a feasibility study in 2012, water from the upstream of the Cisondari River has been recommended to be used as raw water for drinking water. The parameters of the Cisondari River that have not appropriate with drinking water quality standards (Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 492 / MENKES / PER / IV / 2010) are turbidity, color, iron, E.coli, and total coliform bacteria. <br /> <br /> The plan for drinking water treatment plant is located in Sadu Village, Soreang District. SPAM Gambung will use a gravitational system to utilize the elevation difference from intake to the service plan area. Based on several parameters that exceed quality standards, it decided to uses complete conventional tratment consisting of coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection(Kawamura, 1991). In this final project, only design filtration, disinfection and reservoir units. The selected of filter unit design is rapid sand filter dual media that uses sand and anthracite, gravel as a buffer medium to prevent media from being carried into the underdrain system, and branch pipes as an underdrain system. Rapid sand filter use downflow system, so it can save energy consumption. To treat water with total discharge of 0.4 m3 / sec, four filters are needed with dimensions of 10 m in length, 5 m in width, and 3.8 m in depth. <br /> <br /> Based on recommendations of SNI 6778 2008, the disinfectant that will be used for SPAM Gambung is chlorine because the price is relatively cheap with 70% an active chlorine. This unit consist of one solvent tank with a diameter of 0.95 m and a mechanical stirrer using an impeller blade. Based on the laboratory data required 56.28 kg / day of chlorine for disinfection. The reservoir that will be used is ground reservoir because the safety of treated water is more secure and the cost of construction and maintenance is cheap. The reservoir will be built with total volume needed is 3696.8 m3 consisting of two compartments with dimensions of 9 m depth, 24 m length, and 20 m width. The reservoir will be equipped with a baffle to prevent dead flow. <br /> text
