The increases must be balanced by adequate hotel accommodation. Air conditioning system as a part of building utilities system should be designed to ensure and maintain thermal comfort for all hotel occupants. It must be designed properly and efficiently, both in terms of energy and costs. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Air conditioning system design consists of cooling load estimation, proper component and equipment selection, calculation of energy consumption, and life cycle cost analysis. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Maximum cooling load produced and estimated in the hotel is 1410,1 kW (399,45 TR). From that estimation, there are four main air conditioning system alternatives, consists of non-VSD chillers and the ones that equipped with VSD technology. Energy and life cycle cost analysis for the next 20 years were being done to decide which alternatives suite the best. From the design process, it is known that the best alternative for the hotel is 2 chillers that equipped with VSD technology, for each has 200 TR cooling capacity, has ECI value of 111,78 kWh/m2 year, and total costs of Rp 44.804.602.001,00 for 20 years. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Keywords : hotel, cooling load estimation, VSD, air conditioning system alternatives <br /> text
