The lack of vigilance carried out by train-drivers has long been declared as the cause of accidents. PT.KAI as railway company does not test how ready the train-drivers works in terms of cognitive. Based on the research, there is a relationship between vigilance, working memory and workload, but there has not been much research explicitly explaining how these three relationships work, especially in railway driving activities. Measurements tool of vigilance, working memory and workload are: SAT, FDS and NASA-TLX. To achieve problem solving for PT.KAI regarding cognitive readiness test, first esearch is needed to explore the relationship of SAT, FDS and NASA-TLX. Neither SAT nor FDS only describes a person's cognitive level and does not describe how workloads occur. Therefore, it is necessary to research that explores the characteristics of SAT and FDS values, whether these two tools can describe the condition of the workload or not. If possible, SAT and FDS can be an early indicator of a change of workload on railway driving activities, so we do not need to use NASA-TLX which is highly subjective. Subjects in this study were students of Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) aged 20 years. The number of respondents is 12 people. SAT, FDS and NASA-TLX data were processed using Kruskal Wallis Test and Post Hoc Mann-Whitney test. The result of this research is the decrease of SAT and FDS value can be used as early indicator of the increase of railway work load. PT.KAI is recommended to use FDS for the train-driverS before and after work, because FDS can describe cognitive condition and become an early indicator for change of work load is received.<p align="justify"> |
