Therefore, filtration unit was chosen as the subject of design. Based on the evaluation, one of filter units problem is the treatment efficiency which hasn’t been optimum. Moreover, filtration units are actually capable of treating 1575 L/s without any basins addition. Because of that, the purpose of this design is to increase filtration unit efficiency and production capacity by changing the filter media. As a design study alternative, the design was done using two different inflow, 1575 L/s as masterplan capacity and 2390 as maximum capacity, with two different type of filter, which are dual media filter and multi media filter, also with two types of underdrain system which are nozzle and lateral-manifold piping. For dual media filter design, the media used are anthracite and sand. For multi media filter design, the media used are anthracite, sand, and garnet. text |
