THE EFFECTS OF NOISE EXPOSURE TO THE PORTER'S HEALTH AT HUSEIN SASTRANEGARA AIRPORT BANDUNG

Noise is one of many environmental health problem in big cities. Noise is the unwanted sound that can disturbing or damaging the health. One of the health risk is hearing loss and hypertension. When the porter taking in or taking out the luggage from the plane, the porter was very near with the machine of the plane with very high frequency more than 85 dBA.The study was head for find out side effect of noise exposure to porter health which is the hearing loss or the hypertension on porter at PT. Z as the sample and PT. X and PT. Y as the control. The study was conducted by cross sectional.Total subject is 28 porters and 15 administration worker as a control that fulfil specific criteria. The plane types on Husein Sastranegara Bandung airport are Airbus A320 and Boeing B737-800. For the measuring result at apron area for shift A, B, and C are 72.3 dB, 76.87, and 73 dB. The noise at PT. X 60.34 – 62.05 dB(A) and 72.3 dB, 76.87, dan 73 dB for PT. Y still under TLV. Founded 9 porters from 28 others that have hearing loss. And founded 1 workers from 15 control get hearing loss. Paired sample T Test and Contingency Analysis tell that there is connection between the noise exposure and hypertension short in time. Score oh HQ for sample group is 1.57 that showingthere is a danger of noise at working area. From RR get 4.82. It means the risk of sample worker hearing loss 4.82 times bigger than control group.
