Description
Summary:
The complexity of land issues in developing countries is caused by the unclear legal status of the land due to a large number of unregistered land. To speed up the process of land registration in developing countries, several experts are launching a new approach called Fit-for Purpose Land Administration (FFP-LA). One of the main components of the FFP-LA is the spatial framework that related to the representation of the ownership information and usage of parcels. One of the key principles within the FFP-LA spatial framework development is the usage of high-resolution imagery.

This undergraduate thesis is reviewed about the availability of Indonesia's high-resolution satellite images in three agencies (LAPAN, BIG, and ATR/BPN) which has authority with it. In addition, this thesis is also reviewed the process flow of providing, saving, distributing, and processing of image data in LAPAN and BIG as well as its utilization in ATR / BPN as well as reviewed the level of readiness of the three agencies in the process of providing, saving, distributing, processing and utilizing high-resolution imagery data for acceleration of land registration under the FFP-LA principle. Sources of data are based on the literature study, processing of secondary data, and interviews with agencies related to the provision, management, processing, and utilization of high-resolution satellite imagery in Indonesia. As a result of the study, there is a high-rate availability of Indonesia's high-resolution image data and there are strategic plans to support the provision, management, processing and utilization of high-resolution image data as a step in the implementation of FFP-LA in Indonesia. However, with the existing condition of image processing supporting data and policy conditions, it is still not possible for the three agencies to fully support the implementation of FFP-LA in Indonesia.
