Summary:<p align="justify">Communication system is one system that play an important role in fighter aircraft to achieve successful completion of the operation mission. To increase air defense, fighter aircraft are required to be equipped with communication technology that supports modern battle management systems. The communication system that can support this is Tactical Data Link (TDL). <br /> <br /> TDL is one of the Critical Technology Elements (CTE) on warplanes that play a role in improving situational awareness, decision making, carrying out command and control on an operation mission. Therefore, the use of TDL on aircraft can increase the effectiveness of aircraft operations missions. To find out how effective the use of TDL on operation mission, the simulation of the TDL on fighter is executed. <br /> <br /> The working process in this study consisted of literature studies, data collection, preparation of simulation scenarios which included defining the mission profile, friend and hostile aircraft specifications, defining the communication type and the network interconnection model used. Scenarios that have been compiled are simulated using Extended Air Defense Simulation (EADSIM) software. <br /> <br /> The effectiveness parameter used in this simulation refers to the report produced by EADSIM, there are the first weapon launch speed, blue fighter survivability, and blue fighter lethality, which are used to calculate the kill ratio probability. Based on this simulation, it can be concluded that the scenario which uses voice + TDL communication has a higher effectiveness, with the kill ratio probability value 1.91 times higher than the voice only communication scenario. This is because additional use of TDL communication can increase situational awareness which will speed up the tactical execution process and improve the accuracy of information.<p align="justify">
