Description
Summary:<palign="justify">Indonesia which has an area of 3.257.483 km² of sea which is almost twice as wide as the land area. With the vast territory makes Indonesia has abundant marine resources and certainly needs to be utilized and taken care of as well as possible. Indonesian waters have various marine zoning provisions of United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and marine zone regulations of Indonesia. The strategic position of Indonesia by crossing two continents, Asia and Australia, as well as two oceans, Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean, puts Indonesia in an important position in the global environment, affecting the political, economic and regional stability of the environment. Indonesia has a sovereign right to the Exclusive Economic Zone (ZEE) which is 200 miles from the coastline. The government is now starting to seriously promote Indonesia's maritime vision to make Indonesia a world maritime axis. An important aspect that takes part in this vision is its defense and security. Currently, Indonesia has initiated some serious problems related to the misuse of marine resources such as illegal fishing and warm sea conflicts such as the South China Sea Conflicts. The various government policies on defense and security that have been made and which will be made become the government's guiding weapons to realize that vision. After that the implementation of these policies also helped oversee the process to realize the vision of Indonesia as the world maritime axis. The whole of the government policy is dictionally supportive of the vision of the government but nothing can stand on its own but reinforce each other. In terms of practice there are still many homework such as the addition of quality and quantity of military and navigation to prevent any threats that exist in the sea.<palign="justify">
