This thesis will design an electronic transaction device using a contact smart card and this device will be operated by using a touch panel. This electronic transaction device will support transactions such as top up transaction, which will increase the smart card’s balance, a payment transaction to decrease the smart card’s balance, and a check balance function as method to know the smart card’s balance. All of the transaction will be logged in a server and the log can be seen on the application that resides on the server. The design starts by designing the hardware which consist of block modules that will be used in the system, bitstream generation, and bootloader, after that it is followed by designing the operating system and the supporting application which is used, finally the design concluded by designing the electronic transaction device application with the server application that serves as a logger. The testing for the functionality of this device is done by comparing the smart card’s balance which is shown on the electronic transaction device application, the value that resides on the server’s application, and by using a third party application. The testing results shows that the electronic transaction device works as it was intended. text |
