Research was held in Madak Village, with coordinate109°19'35,6” E-109°22'59,8” E and 1°11'57,40” N-1°15'09,11 N. This area is known for it’s gold potential. This research was continuation from general exploration that held by “Pusat Sumber Daya Mineral, Batubara, dan Panas Bumi” in 2014. The former research found that there are primary gold mineralization (in form of vein) and secondary gold mineralization (in form of placer sediment) in Pangapit. Research was held to find out the geological condition and gold mineralization’s characteristics in Pangapit. The methods that used in this research are mapping, analysis by petrography, mineragraphy, spectra, statistical geochemistry. Research area consist of four geomorphologic units which are Pangapit Denudational Fold Plain, Batubelah Lava Hill, Kanyi Homoclinal Ridge and Praja Sekadau Homoclinal Ridge. Geological unit in Pangapit is divided into Claystone Unit, Tuff Unit and Basalt Unit. There are two geological structure in research area, Anticline and Sinistral Strike Slip Fault. There are at least two stage of alteration occured in research area. First one happened after Eosen and consist of Serisite-Illite 1, Chlorite-Epidote-Calcite 1, and Kaolinite 1. This alteration occured together with gold mineralization. Second alteration occured after Pliosen-Pleistosen and consist of Serisite-Illite 2, Chlorite-Epidote-Calcite 2, and Kaolinite 2. Second alteration was superimposed on first alteration. Gold mineralization in research area occured in the form of vein with north west trend that consist of quartz, hematite, goethite, pyrolusite, pyrit, chalcopyrite. Gold in primary mineralization is moderately associated with Pb. This Mineralization occured in Pangapit mine, north west of Batubelah Hill with Tuff hostrock. Primary Mineralization happened in the same time as the first alteration. text
