Description
Summary:
Organophosphates are phosphoric acid ester or acid tiofosfat. These pesticides are well-known as toxic insecticides. Organophosphate active substances are currently restricted, even for rice in Indonesia is not allowed to use organophosphate active substances such as diazinon, dimethoate, fenitrotion, chlorpyrifos, malathion, methidation, and profenofos. Research conducted by Rochmanti (2009) showed that the organophosphate become the most widely used insecticides in the fields in the District of Kertasari. The purpose of this study is to identify the use of pesticides containing organophosphates in agricultural areas around the Citarum Hulu Watershed, so it can be determined the spread of the use of organophosphate active substances. To find out the types of pesticides used, the study is done by sampling the mixtures of pesticides which then being analyzed in laboratory using the Gas Chromatography (GC) with Flame Photometric Detector (FPD). The samples taken during this study were 32 bottles in total. The results of this study indicate profenofos become organophosphate active substances most frequently used which are detected in 100% of the sample, followed by dimetoat 78%, and metidation 63%. The highest concentrations of organophosphates were found in District of Margaasih, while District of Kertasari is the region with the highest use of pesticide
