INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/30395 Research area is a basin located in the eastern part of West Papua Province. Total research data amounted to ten wells. Seven wells were used for potential rock source analysis, five wells for oil biomarker analysis, and one well for one-dimensional modeling. Geochemical analysis carried out to determine the quantity, quality, and maturity of organic material in each formation. Biomarker analysis carried out on oil samples to determine the characteristics of oil samples and correlate the oil samples (oil to oil correlation). One-dimensional modeling of RF-7 well is done to describe the geological history and maturity history based on the Ro value. Geochemical analysis shows that the most potential formations are the Aifat Formation and the Ainim Formation. Biomarker analysis shows that all oil samples come from anoxic to suboxic environment, at the initial mature conditions and one sample at peak mature conditions. The correlation between oil samples shows two families. Oil with the origin of limestone and oil originated from shale/claystone source rock. One-dimensional modeling shows three phases of formation of the basin namely prerift (320-243 million years ago), syn-rift (243-178 million years ago), and post-rift (178 million years ago-present). There are three erosion processes, namely at the age of Lower Jurassic (178-158 million years ago), Lower Cretaceous-Upper Cretaceous (130-100 million years ago), and Paleocene to Eocene (60-50 million years ago). At the base of the Aifat Formation, early mature occurred in the Upper Triassic (205 million years ago) and mature occurred in the Lower Jurassic (189 million years ago). Recently early mature occured at the depth of 9,900-10,000 feet, mature at the depth of 11,100 feet, and peak of mature at the depth of 14,300 feet. text
