Summary: | One of the current renewable energy is the geothermal energy. The heat energy of the earth itself is produced and stored in the earth. When compared to fossil fuels, geothermal energy is a clean energy source and releases only a small amount of greenhouse gases so it is often called green energy. The geothermal energy can be exploited and produced into electricity to meet the human needs. If the source of geothermal energy is exploited and produced continuously will cause the decrease of production wells productivity so it is necessary to do stimulation to improve it. One of well stimulation method to improve well productivity is hydraulic fracturing. <br />

Hydraulic fracturing in the geothermal field is done by injecting of pressurized liquids generally made of water and chemical additives into formations. The main points of the hydraulic fracturing design are the design of the pumping rate, the selection of proppant, and the fracturing fluid in the water dominated horizontal geothermal well. Hydraulic fracturing design in this study using simulator software FracCADE 7.0. The simulation will be done with P3D geometry model. From the sensitivity test results, it was found that the use of fracturing fluid PrimeFRAC 30 with 25 bpm pumping rate and Carbolite 20/40 proppant with maximum concentration of 9.0 PPA gave optimum design. The optimum hydraulic fracturing design is based on the consideration of xf, Folds of Increase, and IPR values. |
