Description
Summary:Abstract:
The pattern of leachate dispersion in shallow groundwater around solid waste disposal site is analyze through computation on flow, chloride and nitrogen concentration. Data on ran fall intensity, topography, rocks, and hydraulic conductivity are input for a computer model in predicting flowing leachate. In Pasirimpun leachate flows through subsurface layers to the south and the south east direction of about 14.500 l/day and 8990 1/day at rainfall height of about 33,5 mm during 90 minutes on 27 March 2000 and 758 mm during 60 days on November-December 1998. The chloride concentration on the subsurface flaw close to the disposal site between is 45 mg/1 up to 69 mg/1. Two stream cross the flaw path causing dilution of chloride concentration. The nitrogen concentration on the subsurface flow between 0,07 mg/1 up to 0,6 mg/l At the Jelekong and Leuwigajah, some amount of leachate discharges as overland flow of about 15 I/sec and 21 I/sec at the rainfall height 33,5 during 90 minutes on 8 and 10 February 2000. The flow, then, mixes with surface water. The leachate dispersion on the groundwater is limited in the area bounded around the valley with its width between 10 m until 75 m. the chloride concentration on the groundwater is between 42 mg/l until 183 mg/l, then the nitrogen concentration is between 0,02 mg/l until 0,7 mg/l. In general, the patent of leachate dispersion in the vicinity of Pasirimpun follows subsurface flow in accordance, with the shallow groundwater flow. While in Jelekong and Leuwigajah the pattern of dispersion follows overland flow.
