The enhancement of teaching-learning processes can be accomplished if teachers recognize the problems taking place at their school, both related to students and to teachers, and also other educational supporting factors. To recognize the problems, a statistical analysis, i.e., data processing of the data available at school, is needed. This thesis offered a solution of statistical method that may be used to analyze the scores of statistics, probability, trigonometry, and circle materials. <br /> <br /> The present research was a case study on Blangpidie MAN students, grade XI of IPA_1 and IPA_2, academic years of 2013/2014 and 2014/2015. The research objectives were: 1. To know the statistical analysis method that may be applied to the scores of students in statistical method applicable to analyze the scores of statistics, probability, trigonometry, and circle materials for academic years of 2013/2014 and 2014/2015; 2. To know the information obtained from the results of data processing performed; 3. To know the steps to take in improving student competence in statistical method that may be used to analyze the scores of statistics, probability, trigonometry, and circle materials. <br /> <br /> The statistical analysis method used was t-test for independent data and MST (minimum spanning tree). The t-test was used to determine the comparison between the student competence in academic year of 2014/2015 and that of academic year of 2013/2014, while the MST was used to determine the relationship between the materials and to find the material that became a center (predominated) other materials. The result of data analysis disclosed that: there were increases in the average values of all mathematics materials in academic year of 2014/2015 as compared to those in academic year of 2013/2014, except for mathematics. The correlations between statistics and probability materials and between trigonometry and circle materials were low. It indicated that the teacher insufficiently related the correlations between materials with teaching-learning activity processes. In academic year of 2013/2014, the center was statistics material, that is, the predominant material in academic year of 2013/2014 was statistics material, and the student achievement in statistics material influenced student achievement in other materials, while in academic year of 2014/2015 there was a difference in the material that became the center between Pearson and Spearman correlations. In Pearson correlation, the center was statistics material, and in Spearman correlation the center was trigonometry material. This indicated that carefulness is needed in determining a correlation test that matches a data.<p align="justify"> text |
