Description
Summary:
Magnetotellurics method is a geophysical method that can be used to image the subsurface of resistivity distribution based on distribution resistivities. This method can identify the existence of a deep fault which lies beneath the subsurface. But on the real implementation in the field, sometimes the result contain errors which can lead to misinterpretation of the results obtained, therefore, the less represent the real situation. One analysis that can be used to minimize this error is using analysis of the rotational impedance effect. This final project will discuss the effect of the impedance rotation of the strike angle direction. The analysis utilizes two dimensional magnetotellurics forward modelling in order to obtain the data model that will be used as observation data. The data is then varied with some magnitude rotating angles and then it will inverse with a inversion scheme. The results of varied modeling data giving difference inversion results which are represented by the value of misfit error and roughness. Additionally resistivity distribution characteristics of each rotation results indicate a difference.
