Description
Summary:
As a form of the Lubuksikaping City Land development process which is currently a small town and there is still a lot to be designed, this research seeks to apply the walkability concept of IPEN Project to the planning of the Lubuksikaping downtown area. The Walkability concept itself is a derivative of one of the new paradigms in planning, namely new urbanism. Walkability can be viewed from a variety of perspectives, and in this study is reviewed from an urban perspective that looks at the walkability of land use, and accessibility. The purpose of this study was to examine the suitability of the concept with the type of region. The research method uses a mixed method by using CityEngine to model and simulate and generate data in a short time. The results of the study show that this concept can be applied to the spatial plan and is quite suitable to be applied in the Lubuk Sikaping City Center and there will not be many obstacles in applying it to the field except for funding constraints, but it is feared that the concept cannot describe the condition of the area comprehensively.
