This compound has structure contains Ru2O9 face-sharing octahedral dimers sharing vertices BiO6 octahedra and Ba2+ ions. Above ?750 K this compound will be transition into the 6H-perovskite with space group P63/mmc. This material reveals simultaneous magnetic and structural dimerization driven by strong magneto elastic at room temperature. This compound’s structure forms an S = 1 magnetic dimer system with intradimer exchange interaction ????0=320 K and interdimer exchange interaction ?????/????????=?160 K. On temperature T* = 176 K occurs first-order transition that associated with a change of direct Ru-Ru bonds within dimer cause an emerging of spin-gapped states at low temperature. This final project will synthesize Ba3BiRu2O9 by using flux method. Crystals were grown by slow cooling and spontaneous nucleation when high temperature solution was cooled down to room temperature. The structure and quality of the grown crystals were characterized by using Rapid and XRD. Match and GSAS-II program are used to fit the product with the references. text |
