Mathematical proficiency consisting of conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, strategies competence, adaptive reasoning, and disposition productive. To achieve this goals need various way to do, one of them is mathematics textbook. Mathematics textbook have important role in achieving success in learning mathematics. So, it is important to use good approach in arranging a good textbook which help student to develop their mathematical proficiency. One of approach that can using is realistic mathematics education. There are six principle in mathematics realistic education which are activities principle, reality principle, level principle, intertwinement principle, interaction principle, and guidance principle. <br /> <br /> In this project, a mathematics textbook for students in junior high schools grade 8 semester 2, was arranged by using mathematics realistic education and to build values for character development. Based on this approach, the textbook that arranged preserved with picture, illustration, and problem in daily life. Those medium used to explore what was student knew in the past and to check what is student thinks about the content. Then, there are activities, discussion, and project that engage student actively. Through those medium, hopefully student can construct their knowledge, practice to strategies, practice of reasoning so student easy to understand the concept of the content. Besides that through this activity, student enjoy in learn mathematics so they have positive attitude toward mathematics. Finally, they can success in learning mathematics.<p align="justify"> text
