Description
Summary:The industry of furniture and handicrafts made from rattan is one of the leading industries in the Cirebon area and has a large contribution to the economy of the surrounding community. Maintaining the existence of this industry is important because it has involved the lives of many people. Woven products are one of the potentials in this industry that can still be developed even better. This is because one of the strengths in this industry is the ability to weave residents around industrial centers. Strengthening the image of woven products produced from this area needs to be pursued, moreover the results of the product development can be used as the identity of this rattan woven producing area. One way that can be used to make woven as an identity is by adopting another local identity that is well known in the community to be included in the woven element. In this study determined the mega overcast batik motif as a motif adopted as a pattern on the rattan webbing. This type of batik was chosen because the motif was very well known to the Cirebon area. The method used in the study is an experimental method. Some treatments are carried out to get the shape that is considered most suitable with the mega overcast batik motif. The development itself consists of 3-dimensional shapes with varying sizes, so the results can get a more realistic 3-dimensional effect. Apart from that, in this study also carried out a 2-dimensional woven fabrication experiment with mega cloud pattern. This is done in order to provide an alternative application of the mega overcast batik motif on rattan woven. The final result of this experiment will be applied to a bag design that can be used functionally as a fashion product. So that it can be used by users widely, especially for those who have an interest in
