Description
Summary:
North coast of Java is a coastal area located in the northern part of Java Island. This area is known through the Pantura Line (Pantai Utara) which is a national road along the 1316 km and stretches along the coast of Java Island. The existing cities in the Pantura Region such as Jakarta, Cirebon, Bekasi, Pekalongan, Semarang, Demak, Surabaya and Sidoarjo are indicative of land subsidence.

The results of several studies dealing with land subsidence conclude that the causes of land subsidence are excessive groundwater extraction, weight or burden of buildings or large infrastructure resulting in natural compaction, excessive mining of excessive soil, and tectonic forces occur in the region. Reductions in the face of the land can provide both direct and indirect losses to affected communities and environments.

The method used in performing spatial analysis in this research is to do a spatial overlay that is done by combining and showing simultaneously a separate data set that is part of the same area. The result of this combination is a new set of data that identifies its spatial relationship

Based on the results of research conducted, the spread of industry, the spread of settlements, and the spread of oil wells have a correlation with the decrease in the face of the land. This is due to excessive groundwater extraction. In addition, there are also potential areas of land subsidence in the future, namely Cilegon, Serang, Tangerang, Bekasi, Cikarang, Cikampek, Karawang, Cirebon, Kendal, and Pasuruan.
