Summary: |
Gorontalo Province is one of the regions in Indonesia with the largest income coming from the fields of agriculture, forestry and fisheries. One of the companies in Gorontalo Province which is engaged in the wood industry is PT. Katingan Timber Group. The company has projects based on Jabon and sengon plantations with production in the form of UM, Floorebase, General Plywood, Urethane coated plywood (UCP), BB / CC, and Local. In 2022 PT. Katingan Timber Group will develop a container terminal in Gorontalo Province to distributes their products to Japan, Europe, Middle East, India and Indonesia. In order to accommodate this plan, it is necessary to make a design of a terminal or port area that is equipped with an operational system that is able to support their distribution activities. Therefore, operational design of container terminal is carried out in the timber industry area located in Gorontalo Utara District, Gorontalo Province. This project is done by analyzing and choosing a combination between 3 (three) alternatives container handling tools at the dock and 3 (three) alternatives marshalling tools in the stacking field. Each of the handling / marshalling tools is analyzed for productivity to get the most effective combination of tool usage. In addition, the amount of capital costs is also calculated to get a combination of handling and marshalling equipment that is the most affordable price. The calculation of capital costs is carried out with the assumption that the terminal will be constructed in 2022. Based on the results of calculations, the combination that produces the highest productivity is second combination, which use ship to shore cranes on the dock and mobile harbor cranes in the stacking field. While the combination that has the lowest cost is 8th combination, which use fixed cranes on the dock and mobile harbor cranes in the stacking field. The combination that is recommended for this container terminal is a combination with the lowest cost because the ship is only berthing once a week.
