As a developing country, Indonesia is becoming increasingly urban and has been characterized by rapid urbanization. The influence of the urbanization has several impacts in social and environmental that is increasing the amount of public green open space for social interaction and set the natural balance. Many studies show that public open space is one of the important element for urban environment and contribute to the quality of life. <br /> <br /> <br /> The aims of this study are to find the relationship between public green open space with the quality of life in the City of Metro, Indonesia which are expected to improve the function of public green open space itself to achieve a better quality of community life. This research is used three studies parks area and used user perceptions also public open space characteristic to assess it. The level of visitor satisfaction of public open space is a key measure of individuals subjectively. Therefore, information based on questionnaire-based method of analysis is needed to test the ability of the data to understand visitor attitudes toward the characteristics and perceptions of public open space. Furthermore, to analyze characteristics and perceptions is using Descriptive Analysis to see the relationship of two variable (public open space and quality of life). <br /> <br /> This study shows that there is no significant relationship between the quality of life and the elements of public green open space. The relationship between the quality of life and public open space element is evident in accessibility, activities, facilities, management, natural environment, and intensity does not apply to Merdeka Park and Samber Parks and Mulyojati Park. In this research found that well-designed and properly managed of the public open space encourage more interaction and raises high levels of community satisfaction. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Keywords: Public open space, quality of life, life satisfaction, community perception, likert scale <br /> <br /> <br />
