Description
Summary:Indonesia is a country with a high intensity of catastrophe. Natural disasters such as earthquake, tsunami, volcanic eruption, land movement, flood, tornado and so forth occur frequently in Indonesia. This disaster-prone condition in Indonesia demands such capability of disaster management to reduce the risk of the disaster as well as handling or adaptation to it. Amongst substantial readiness is in post-disaster rehabilitation process. The Post-disaster recovery programs and policies can offer opportunities to fix long-standing problems by normalizing sectors which are paralyzed as the aftermath of the disaster. Post-disaster recovery not only focus on how to restore the place to the condition before disaster occurred, but to fix the future challenges and problems related to disaster. The success of post-disaster recovery programs are affected by community resilience based on a place. This study is an attempt to assess the impact of community resilience to post-disaster recovery based on Disaster Resilience of Place Model (DROP). The author studied a case took place in Sukabumi district, which was a 6,3 SR earthquake on January 23rd 2018, precisely in Cihamerang village as the most affected village by said earthquake. The assessment focus on adaptive resilience which is obtained by assessing community knowledge concerning aspects of a disaster, community response to a disaster and local wisdom applied in the community. The assessments resul that, the community resilience in Desa Cihamerang is in moderate grade with community knowledge of disaster aspect as the lowest apect in disaster resilience assessment.

Keywords : Disaster resilience, Post-Disaster Recovery, DROP Model, Earthquake
