The parameters that are used are monthly current velocity and sea water temperature since 1993 to 2012 at the entry and exit passageways of ITF (Sulawesi Sea, Makassar Strait, Molucca Sea, Halmahera Sea, Lombok Strait, Ombai Strait, and Timor Sea). INDOMIX (The Indonesian Mixing Program) and MITF (Monitoring Indonesian Throughflow) survey data are used to verify HYCOM reanalysis model. Volume transport are calculated from current velocity and cross-section area. Heat transport are calculated from the volume transport and sea water temperature. The heat transport at the entry passageways (Makassar Strait, Molucca Sea, and Halmahera Sea) is -0.86 PW and -0.87 PW at the exit passageways (Lombok Strait, Ombai Strait, and Timor Sea). There is -0.01 PW difference in the heat transport. The difference in volume transport between entry and exit passageways is what caused the difference in heat transport. The average monthly heat transport is affected by the monsoon in Indonesia which is strengthened in the monsoon transition from North West Monsoon (NWM) to South East Monsoon (SEM), and then weakened in the monsoon transition from SEM to NWM at the entry passageways and strengthened in SEM then weakened in NWM at the exit passageways. Heat transport strengthened during La Niña and weakened during El Niño.<p align="justify"> text |
