In addition to renewable energy, oleic acid in obtain from Thalassiosira sp. lipid may also be used as a raw material for oleochemical industry. The present study aimed to determine productivities of biomass as well as lipid obtained on Thalassiosira sp. and to identify oleic acid content in Thalassiosira sp. lipid. Thalassiosira sp. cells were cultivated from 1 L indoor-photobioreactors to a 1,500 L outdoor-photobioreactor gradually. Thalassiosira sp. cells were seeded in a condition of the growing phase. Thalassiosira sp. lipid was extracted by the method of modified Bligh-Dyer. The results showed that the amount of Thalassiosira sp. biomass obtained from cells cultured with an initial cell density of 8.77 x 105 cells/mL in an outdoor- photobioreactor for 6 day was 844 g, or equivalent to biomass productivity of 93.8 mg L-1 d-1. Lipid content of Thalassiosira sp. biomass was 14.6%, and lipid productivity of Thalassiosira sp. was 1.16 mg L-1 d-1. Oleic acid was successfully identified by GC-MS and GC-FID at retension time of 23.54 and 21.59 min, respectively, and the consentration of oleic acid was 2.6 &#956;g/mL.<p align="justify"> text
