GEOSPATIAL RISK ASSESSMENT OF NAVIGATIONAL SAFETY ACROSS SHIPPING LANES SYSTEM IN PATIMBAN PORT

The Patimban Port which began operations in 2019 will create new shipping lanes and become a port as dense as the Tanjung Priok Port. This condition will increase the danger in the shipping lanes of Patimban Port which causes various types of marine accidents. Ther...

This condition will increase the danger in the shipping lanes of Patimban Port which causes various types of marine accidents. Therefore, the aims of this research are to formulate a risk assessment model and create risk maps as a media in considering efforts to minimize or eliminate dangerous conditions to prevent or reduce the consequences of marine accidents. The formulation of the risk assessment model begins with identifying risks using marine accident data which results in the six main parameters causing the occurrence of marine accidents. Then, the frequency of occurrence of each parameter is determined by the Analytical Hierarchy Process method, followed by evaluating the consequences based on literature studies. The frequency scale and consequence class of each parameter are used to form a risk impact matrix and create the risk maps using the ranking method. The risk maps created are existing risk map and future risk map. From the comparison of the two risk maps, shallow water has a higher risk than deep waters. This is because the water depth parameter has the biggest weight. Traffic density that has the lowest parameter weight still produces changes in risk zones if there is a difference in traffic density. The medium risk zone that is on the risk map of the current situation transform into a high-risk zone on the risk map of future conditions in the Patimban Port shipping lanes.
text
