PENGEMBANGAN INTEGRASI KERANGKA PERANCANGAN SISTEM PRODUKSI (PSD) DENGAN PERANCANGAN ERGONOMI

The fierce competition in manufacturing environment recently forces manufacturing to adopt a lean manufacturing strategy. To realize this strategy a company need to design its production system accordingly. A framework called PSD was developed by Cocharn (1999) to accomplish this task and used axiomatic design by Suh (1990) as its approach. However, the approach is more lean toward technocentric approach and lack of implicit ergonomic approach. An integrated framework which considered both technocentric and ergonomic approach is proposed. The PSD framework is modified to incorporate ergonomic considerations. By using this approach a parallel approach of techno centric and ergonomic is implemented. This is difference to sequential approach which normally implemented. The developed framework is tested to design a packing department in a Child-Clothes Company. A company among developed framework, original PSD framework and ergonomic improvement approach is developed. The result show that using the developed framework a layout of department and detail work station design can be produced while the original PSD framework and produces a layout while the ergonomic approach only improve the work station design without considering layout of the department. It is concluded that the new integrated framework is more comprehensive in designing production system
