The canal blocking is built inside the canal or trench body in order to reduce the flow rate and maintain and/or increase water storage in the canal body and surrounding area. The working principle of canal blocking is to hold and hold water as long as possible within the peat hydrological unit. Forest fires in 2015 became an important problem to be resolved. Problem that occur in the study area and its surroundings need to get attention from the government and real countermeasures. In identifying these problems, an analysis of the hydrology, hydraulics and groundwater analysis on peatlands. The result of research on canal blocking design in order to calculate elevation of the water level below the surface of the peatland and adjust the water level in the canal so that it can mitigate fire disasters on peatlands. Subsurface groundwater level and around the upstream canal blocking of the Sinar Wajo village are planned to be as high as +19.728 while the subsurface groundwater level of peatland and around the downstream canal blocking is planned as high as +19.545.<p align="justify"> text
