Description
Summary:Riparian ecosystem is a connector between terrestrial ecosystem and aquatic ecosystem having important role on conservation water quality contaminated by pollutant from terrestrial area such as polutan released from agricultural and plantation area. Kuantitative reseacrh is conducted to get information about the influence riparian vegetation to water quality by compare water quality between water that flow on the creek in forest and on the agricultural area located in Cikapundung Upsteram Water Sheet. Result show that riparian vegetation in forest with Shannon-Weiner Indeks (H’) is 1.409 (medium) or more hight than agricultural area having H’ 0,525 (low) caused riparian forest vegetation have ability to maintenance water quality in the creek more than agricultural area . Comparison standard deviation gradien of EC, TDS, TSS, TS, temperature, DO, pH, NO2, and absorben of NO3 is (2.04 : 5.50), (1.02 : 2.66), (0.55 : 17.82), (1.19 : 19.54 ), (0.22 : 0.24), (0.48 : 0.88), (0.25 : 0.29 ), (0.0047 : 0.0054 ), dan (0.013 : 0.017) respectively. This is inline with the N-total loss prediction that show the higher the average rainfall per time, the total amount of N-washed in the agricultural area will increase and exceed the forest area even though the total N-content per weight in the forest area is higher than the agriculture area.
