Description
Summary:North East Java Basin is one of prominent hydrocarbon basin in Indonesia. There are lots of active Oil and Gas Working Area in this basin, however there are still plenty of area which yet included to those active Oil and Gas Working Area nowadays, and Block X is one of them. According to 4 drilled wells in Block X, there were gas show identification discovered on several Unit-1 Kujung Formation intervals. The DST test on NR-1 well produced the gas with a flow rate of 13.58 MMSCFPD (5820’-5840’) and 13.42 MMSCFPD (5630’-5670’), while on GLTK-1 well produced the gas with a flow rate of 15.1 MMSCFPD (5668’-5698’) and 6.75 MMSCFPD (5525’-5555’). Therefore, the research on hydrocarbon potential in Unit-1 Kujung Formation Block X is properly conducted.

The research is started with facies analysis, seismic facies, facies association modeling, petrophysic calculation, and distribution of rock physical property with geostatistical approach. The purpose of this research is to discover facies association and reservoir property of Unit-1 Kujung Formation as well as their distribution both vertical and horizontal, and eventually it will also be known about hydrocarbon resources in Block X.

Based on this research, Unit-1 Kujung Formation reservoir is composed by 4 facies association, such as back reef-lagoon, fore reef, patch reef and barrier reef. All wells in Block X have only drilled in back reef-lagoon and fore reef facies association, while patch reef and barrier reef facies association can only be identified through seismic facies analysis.

The results of this study it is known that there are two leads and three prospects on Block X. The result of gas in place resource calculation is 1426 BCF from leads (lead 1 and lead 2) and 1569 BCF from prospect (prospect GLTK-1, prospect BLBS-1 and prospect NR-1).
