Summary: | <p align="justify"> Indonesia as a country with the fourth most populous population in the world certainly did not escape the social problems of the community. One of the problems that continues to be the focus of the solution is on waste management. Data derived from the Ministry of Environment (KNLH) indicates that of the total waste production in Indonesia, only 18.84% can be sorted to be reused or discarded. Improper waste management leads to garbage accumulation at points of disposal. The tendency of segregation of waste that is not good to make waste management subsequently inhibited and ineffective. This garbage problem is the responsibility of not only the janitor, but also the entire community and the parties who play a role in the process. It takes effort to manage the waste. The municipal solid waste management system is an integrated system, in which technologies and processes are utilized to make waste management possible from the source and with the participation of all parties. <br />

In this final project, the design of prototype of city waste management system has the ability to recognize waste disposal characteristic with sorting purpose, to assist garbage disposal in performing garbage disposal with indicator marker, to detect the volume and weight of garbage in the trash, to send the volume data and weight of garbage, display statistical visualization of garbage data, as well as showing markers to the cleaners when there is a fully loaded trash bin. The design of the system offered is microcontroller based. <br />
<br />
The development of municipal waste management system includes the implementation of hardware and software, but in this final project, more focused on software implementation. In the soft implementation, built a web page integrated with data from hardware. This webpage can display the entire garbage processing data as well as each device, manages the data of each trash device, displays the location of every device where it is, and manages the administrative data. Mobile apps can display marker and routes to the location of the fully loaded trash can. <br />
<br />
The test results show that the software can operate its functions in accordance with the requirements that have been well defined. Hardware and software can connect and perform data transactions with the database. Testing to the experts shows that the concept of proposed system is good and is expected to be a system that is applied in the real environment. <p align="justify"> |
