Description
Summary:Bosscha Observatory is one of the oldest, and so far the largest star observation institution in Indonesia. In 2008, Bosscha Observatory is appointed as a national vital object by the government of Indonesia. Despite its main function as an astronomy observation institution, Bosscha Observatory is also known as a cultural heritage attraction for local and international tourists. A well planned museum facility in Bosscha Observatory can bring many advantages to both the institution and general society. Landscraper design concept is an approach that can be used to design a new building in this heritage and conservation area. This thesis is aimed to make an astronomy museum design using simulation qualitative method. The theories used in this thesis are juxtaposition and museum planning. The mentioned theories are then used as a tool to identify the chosen precedents. The next step is to combine the result of the identification with the data from an inverview with the authority of Bosscha Oservatory, which is the analised to get the design criterias of astronomy museum in Bosscha Observatory. Based on the simulation, this thesis concluded that landscraper design approach is the right approach for astronomy museum planning in Bosscha Observatory.<p align="justify">
