| Summary: | <p align ="justify">Indonesian's economy is dominated by informal sector. Informal sector is flexible, dangerous, unsafe, and have not a legal entity. West Bandung has many informal sector, such as the manufacture of footwear (Cibaduyut), electronic waste recycling (Astana Anyar), plastic-washing (Cigondewah Kaler), and Screen-printing(Jl. Pagarsih). Workplace hazards was evaluated in this study consist of physical hazards, chemical hazards, and accidents. Workplace hazards was done by lighting measurement, work temperature measurement, see raw materials, production process, workplace conditions, and questionnaire., consists of physical, chemical, and accidents rate. Hazard identification is done by reviewing raw materials, processes and working conditions, direct measurement and questionnaires. The results of lighting measurement, 70% Shoe-factory, 75% of screen-printing, ang 40% of sorting place have lighting level which are inappropiate with the standard. Plastic-washing sector have work temperature hazard potential, beside that the shoe-making and screen printing are not. Footwear manufacture and screen printing have chemical hazards potential. The result of breathing zone measurement in footwear manufacture, there were organic solvents such as toluene and methyl ethyl keton, which is dominated by toluene. Screen printing air contain ethyl-benzene, p-xylene, 1-ethyl-2-methyl-benzene, isoprophyl-benzene, 1,2,3-trimethyl benzene, dan heneicosane. Electronic waste recycling emit heavy metals such as Al, Cr, Mn, Fe, Cu, Zn, Pb, Co, As, and Cd, which is dominated by Pb. Work accidents in footwear manufacture consists of cut by knife (70%), cut by scissors (15%), hit by hammer (10%), and punctured by nail (5%). While washing plastic, cut by cutter (79%) and injured leg by glass (21%). So, each of informal sector has the different physical and chemical hazards workplace.<p align ="justify"> |
