Summary: | The study was conducted in Brang Gesing and the surrounding area, which is located in Brang
Rea and Brang Ene District, West Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. The
purpose of this study is to understand the geological condition of the area, including
geomorphology, stratigraphy, geological structure, and geological history.
The research area consists of ridges and plains. There are four geomorphological units in the
research area, namely Betun Lava Ridges Unit, Gesing Lava Ridges Unit, Batuhijau Lava
Ridges Unit, and Floodplains Unit.
The result of the study in the research area shows the age range of Middle Miocene until
Recent. Lithology in the research area is divided into six unofficial lithodemic units, namely
Andesit Lava 1 Unit, Andesit Lava 2 Unit, Andesit Lava 3 Unit, Diorite Porphyry Unit,
Microdiorite Unit, and Alluvial Deposits Unit. Geological structures in the research area are
strike-slip faults formed by deformation that happened during Upper Middle Miocene – Lower
Late Miocene. |
