However, at this time the potential has not been maximally utilized due to various constraints that occur in existing conditions. After the stipulation of Wakatobi as one of the ten Indonesian National Tourism Destinations certainly requires special treatment in terms of optimizing and standardizing tourism areas to be able to attract international markets. Moreover, the geographical condition which is an archipelago, Wakatobi is very vulnerable to problems of accessibility and the convenience of travel, this can have an impact on the decrease in the number of visitors if it is not immediately completed.
The tourism industry in Wakatobi is formed by the entire utilization of resources owned by the region, whether it is the natural resources that are processed or the drivers that are human resources. One of the triggers of the tourism industry that plays an important role in the form of Wakatobi that can be integrated between an island to another is accessibility. Accessibility can be improved by making potential tourist route directives that can be enjoyed by the community and tourists who come to Wakatobi. The design of this route selection is expected to improve the integration of existing transportation, even triggering the emergence of tourism-specific modes of transportation to strengthen the Wakatobi branding, namely Coral Wonders together with two other national tourist destinations, Raja Ampat and Bunaken.
For determining this tour route, using the Models of Tourist Travel approach, while the main part of the concept is (Pearce, 1995: 6) origin, destination, access route, return route, and recreational route. Access route is a route that will connect between the origin-destination point, return route is a route that connects the destination point-origin, and recreational route is the route through which tourists go to visit tourist attractions and facilities that are passed during the trip. This recreational route is part of the journey between origin and destination. It is from this route that the concept of touring was born which is usually developed into a tourist route
Through the application of Models of Tourist Travel accompanied by the use of the method of determining intervals with the Central Tendency (centralized tendency), namely, the potential DTW can be obtained as the main destination of travel. Lastly, one more analysis is performed using the Network Analysis System to find the optimal route by considering time and distance. After its reinterpreted into Models of Tourist so as to produce optimal routes and scenarios. There are five scenarios for the final result, route scenarios such as: 1st Scenario Wangi-Wangi Tour with 70,72 km length, 2nd Scenario Wangi-Wangi – Kaledupa Tour with 171,38 km, 3rd Scenario Wangi-Wangi - Kaledupa - Tomia Tour with 226,78 km length, and the last 4th Scenario Wangi-Wangi - Kaledupa - Tomia – Binongko Tour with 449,58 km length.
