| Summary: | Artocarpus altilis (Park.) Fosberg (Moraceae) has been known to produce prenylated flavonoids. This project is aimed to investigate the flavonoids from the leaf of the plant which have never been done previously. From the ethyl acetate extract a dihydrocalchone, 2-geranyl-2',3',3,4-tetrahydroxydihydrocalchone, and two phenolic constituents had been isolated. The structures of these compounds were determined on the basis of spectroscopic data, including UV, IR, and NMR spectra, as well as by comparison of these data with the reported data. The result there fire streng then the phytochemical status of the prenylated flavonoids in the plant, as well as in the genus Artocarpus in general. |
