This is because EPS has a striking advantage in saving vehicle fuel. In 2017, Indonesia is the country that has the largest car market volume in Southeast Asia and is the second largest car producer in Southeast Asia. Under these conditions, Indonesia does not take more roles to develop the domestically produced EPS technology. Therefore this research was carried out to develop domestic EPS technology. This study uses a steering column from Fiat Punto 188 as a model that has a torque sensor and BLDC motor. Research includes designing EPS electrical systems, designing EPS algorithms with Arduino Mega, sensor calibration, identification of BLDC motors, and also testing the overall system response. The control system used is a proportional close-loop control system that is applied to the Arduino Mega microcontroller with a sampling frequency of 500 Hz. The results of this study are the response of the EPS system that is capable of providing assisted torque proportional to the torque of the steering wheel input. The response is based on the torque characteristic curve which is the input of the speed of the car and also the torque of the steering wheel input. <p align="justify"> <br /> <br /> <br /> text
