One of the environmental pollution problems caused by mining is acid mine drainage. Based on Peraturan Menteri ESDM RI Number 15/2017 article 11, explained that PKP2B’s holders must fulfill the principle, one of the principle is protection and management of the mining environment. PT Arutmin Indonesia as PKP2B’s holder in their activities can produce acid mine drainage that can pollute the environment. In efforts to protect and manage the mining environment especially treating acid mine drainage, PT Arutmin Indonesia will be design passive treatment system for acid mine drainage on their site plan. This system is suitable for mining location especially in post mining, because this system requires little human control, also low cost when compared with active treatment system. This time, design passive treatment system taken 2 planning area at Site Asam-asam. The first planning area has a catchment area runoff 53.83 ha and the second planning area has a catchment area runoff 75 ha. Characteristics of acid mine drainage at Site Asam-asam in the two planning areas are almost the same like low pH, high acidity, high concentration of metal and high concentration of total suspended solids (TSS). Passive treatment system for acid mine drainage consists of units such as anoxic limestone drain (ALD), sedimentation pond, aerobic constructed wetland (ACW) and sludge collecting unit. Due to the geographical condition, runoff discharge in this area is very high, it is necessary to construct dam to control the discharge, so the units size afterwards have not too large, and the construction cost can be reduced. Treating acid mine drainage with passive treatment system hopefully to be able to fulfill the standard quality for raw water based on Peraturan Pemerintah No. 82/2001 on Pengelolaan Kualtitas Air dan Pengendalian Pencemaran Air for 1st Class. text
