Summary: | Korean Wave or Hallyu is the term for the spread of South Korean pop culture in the world since the 1990s through digital communication media. With the media, the author knows the growth of Korean pop culture and social behavior between public figures and communities. That they are afraid to express their opinions to the public because netizen (people of the internet world) of Korea are extremely piercing to expressing their opinions. Interestingly, actor Yoo Ah In is different from them and inspires author – who have problems not dare to express opinions to the family – to transcend the limits of self, imitate his courage and drawing his portrait as an object in the artwork. The author uses Theory of Self-Confidence and Self-Actualization Theory to solve the problem and Portrait Theory, Artistic Experience Theory, Printmaking Theory of Drypoint, Elements of Art Theory (line and form) to assist in the completion of the artwork. The author made six pieces of artworks with dimensions 84 cm x 60 cm using drypoint techniques with lines as the main component. Finally, the author can express the opinion through creating printmaking artworks that can be seen from the consideration of making large artworks, the number of artworks made, use a good quality material for the artworks until the work can be exhibited. Of course, from these decisions, there is a sense of responsibility and consequences that must be taken, especially in terms of financial, energy, and time. However, the author courage to attempt and consider it as a challenge and media to increase self-confidence as a manifestation of the author's self-actualization. |
