Description
Summary:Background: Garman & Forgue (2010) Financial literacy is the knowledge of the underlying

facts, concepts, principles and technological tools for intelligent use of money. Increased

financial literacy will automatically increase the use, utilization or inclusion of financial

products and services themselves. President Jokowi targets financial inclusion to increase to

75% at the end of 2019. Research conducted in one of construction company in South Sumatera

aims to find the correlation between financial attitudes and behavior towards financial literacy

index of employees and see how they take advantage of loans from the company related to

their financial attitudes and behavior.

Results: Both questionnaires are distributed to 100 employees of PT. Gajah Mada Sarana then

processed and analyzed using multiple linear regression. financial attitude and behavior

simultaneously have strong relationship with financial literacy index, partially, there is

significant impact between saving activity, media payment, counting ability, and financial

resilience period to financial literacy index of employee.

Conclusions: PT. Gajah Mada Sarana employee’s financial literacy index is amounted of

29,75% less literate. Seeing the respondent’s answers about loan reflected in the financial

literacy index, employees of PT. Gajah Mada Sarana is not included in the well-literate group

because they cannot manage the finances they have so far maximally so that make loans from

the company and at the same time they have difficulty in it return.
