Description
Summary:
Riau Provincial Education Department and Bina SDM Riau foundation plan to build a provincial flagship school which is expected to be able to produce international quality human resources while maintaining the values of imtaq and Malay culture. That goal is a basis for designing where school design should reflect the imtaq and malada values. This school will implement the boarding school education system so that there will be two main functions of the school as a place of implementation of formal education and dormitory as a place of resting and character building facilities. The education system is very appropriate in build the character of students, but has some shortcomings such as students easily feel saturated and feeling depressed so decreasing creativity and the potential for developing students. To eliminate saturation and increase student’s growing potential, school will apply the concept of
"Learning Space" as well as make interest and talent development activities as one of the important educational methods. The building also implements the concept of Arabic and Malay culture as the character of the school shown through the character of the building. The integration between Arabic and Malay culture and its application is an important thing that must be designed so as not to give the impression of attaching culture to the building. It is considered still lacking in this building design and become an evaluation for future projects.
