Summary: | Magnetotelluric method is an electromagnetic geophysical exploration technique corresponding with the electrical properties (distribution) of the subsurface of earth. The magnetotelluric method can be used to calculate the physical properties of the earth as a resistivity of the earth’s material. This method use a data source that has a low frequency. The finite element method is one of the numerical methods to solve the problem by using differential equations and boundary conditions. The problem that occurs in to differential equation, Maxwell Equation. In this study, to solve the problem using finite element method with quadrilateral element. The purpose of this final project is to two dimension modelling using quadrilateral element and magnetotelurik TM modes modelling using quadrilateral element. The result obtained are domain discretization and potential distribution. |
