the quality to be i-parafin which has a good freezing point by using isomerization. This process <br />
<br />
needed catalysts which have bifungtional system, there are balancing acid side and active metal. ZSM-48 <br />
<br />
choosed to be the acid support dan the active metal is platinum (Pt) and the promotor is Palladium (Pd). <br />
<br />
The catalyst designed to produce acid level which suitable for isomerization and minimize the cracking <br />
<br />
reaction. <br />

This research has succeeded to produce ZSM-48 with reproducible by using hydrothermal and shyntesis <br />
<br />
Pt-Pd/HZSM-48 catalyst by using wet impregnation. These catalyst tested to isimerize n-dodekana in <br />
<br />
continues fixed bed reactor at 225-270 C temperature, preesure opreration in 35 bar, H2/HC 1058 Nml/ml <br />
<br />
and LHSV 1/hr. n-dodecane has characteristic similar to palm kernel oil which treated to be branched <br />
<br />
hydrocarbon with the better freezing point and pour point. <br />
<br />
Chemical Reaction Engineering and Catalysis Laboratory ITB has been generate sulfided NiMo/?- <br />
<br />
Al2O3 (NiMoS) catalyst that has a good activity and selectivity for hydrodeoxygenation palm kernel <br />
<br />
oil in certain condition & giving performance 100% convertion of PKO to be bio diesel (C15-C18) with <br />
<br />
the pour point is 18oC, this catalyst called HBD-2. Therefore, development of isomerization catalyst not <br />
<br />
carried out. During this research will learns type of template to produce the zeolite by variate mol ratio of <br />
<br />
SiO2/Al2O3; OH-/SiO2; H2O/SiO2. This research, give the results: at SiO2/Al2O3 ratio below 100, the <br />
<br />
zolite crystal so weak, at OH-/SiO2 ratio more than 0.136 the alfa silica being appear and the H2O/SiO2 <br />
<br />
ratio below 26.67 the crystalinity is low. The catalyst support extruded by mixed the 25%-wt part of <br />
<br />
ZSM-48 and 75%-wt part of gamma alumina. Metal active in this catalyst impregnated by 0.3 %-wt Pt <br />
<br />
dan 0.2 %-wt Pd. calcined at 525 0C for 4 hours. There are 2 type catalyst iZ-B dan iZ-C that would be <br />
<br />
tested, iZ-B has 0.24%wt chloride content and iZ-C has 70 ppm. Performance test operated at 225-340 <br />
<br />
C, LHSV 1/hr; pressure 30 bar,and the model using n-dodecane. iZ-B catalyst shown low isomerization <br />
<br />
and high alkylation. iZ-C catalyst give results 52.9% conversion and 31.86% selectivity.<p align="justify"> <br />
