Summary: |
Economic and environmental considerations encourages the use of recycled materials on entire production process. One of them from creating a road construction that is economical and environmentally friendly to reuse of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) material and using of natural asphalt that produced locally named Buton asphalt as an alternative technology in the construction and rehabilitation of road pavement.
This research aims to see potential use of recycled pavement material (RAP) in asphalt concrete binder course (AC-BC) using Pertamina Pen 60/70 and BNA Blend 75/25. Percentage of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) is capped at 0%, 10%, and 15% the use of RAP limited to the extent of 15% was assumed that asphalt stick on RAP was inactive as bitumen.
Laboratory testing involved in the experiments are Marshall, Marshall Immersion, Resilient Modulus of UMATTA and Wheel Tracking test. The mixture used is AC-BC rough grading. Results obtained from experiments KAOrefusal from Marshall test to mix of A0, A10, A15, B0, B10, and B15 were 5.80%, 5.25%, 5.03%, 6.00%, 5.53%, and 5, of 20%. While Marshall has values of 1274.72 kg, 1378.18 kg, 1478.22 kg, 1439.25 kg, 1533.48 kg, and 1562.62 kg. Ratio of IKS in Marshall Immersion at 91.67%, 94.67%, 91.13%, 91.34%, 95.63% and 90.88%. In UMATTA testing conducted on two variations of temperature, ie at a temperature of 25 °C showed the value of 4138 MPa, 4127 MPa, 4614 MPa, 3807 MPa, 4191 MPa, 4705 MPa. Meanwhile, at a temperature of 45 °C to produce resilient modulus of 212 MPa, 512 MPa, 553 MPa, 616 MPa, 657 MPa and 918 MPa. At last test is Wheel Tracking tests demonstrate the value of total deformation at a temperature of 45 °C at 2.20 mm, 1.60 mm, 1.27 mm, 1.88 mm, 1.48 mm, and 1.20 mm. As for the testing temperature at 60 °C read 2.54 mm, 2.17 mm, 1.84 mm, 1.98 mm, 1.89 mm, and 1.33 mm. Generally, it can be concluded that the use of asphalt BNA Blend 75/25 and RAP increased Resilient Modulus values and could increase the resistance to Permanent Deformation too.
|
