It directly faces Kamojang Geothermal Field in the east borderline. Geographically, it lies in
798000-806000 E, dan 9202000-9210000 N zone 48S, which covers an area of 64 km2. This research aims to know the geological condition of Ciharus Prospect Area which includes geomorphology, volcanostratigraphy, and geological structures of research area as well as the possibility of geological condition continuity based on
physical volcanostratigraphy between Ciharus and Kamojang Geothermal Area. Geomorphological units of research area comprise 11 units, namely: Kendang Pyroclastic Flow Slope Unit, Rakutak Lava Flow Ridge Unit, Prahu Lava Flow Ridge
Unit, Cibereum Pyroclastic Flow Ridge Unit, Dogdog Lava Flow Ridge Unit, Sanggar Volcanic Cone Unit, Cibatuipis Pyroclastic Flow Ridge Unit, Ciharus Pyroclastic Fall Ridge Unit, Pasir Jawa Lava Flow Ridge Unit, Kiamis Pyroclastic Flow Hill Unit, and Ciharus Lake Plain Unit. The volcanostratigraphy consists of four khuluk, which are: Khuluk Kendang, Ancient Dogdog-Rakutak, Kamojang, and
Kiamis. Within Khuluk Kendang there is a gumuk, which is Gumuk Puncak Cae. Within Khuluk Ancient Dogdog-Rakutak there are two gumuk, which are: Gumuk Dogdog-Rakutak and Prahu. Within Khuluk Kamojang there are two gumuk, which
are: Gumuk Sanggar and Ciharus. The rocks found in research area include basalt, andecite, pyroclastic breccia, tuf-lapillistone, and colluvial deposit which are divided into 10 unofficial units based on: sources, lithologies differed from size, component of rocks, and the timing of formation. Geological structure in research area consists of a secondary structure which is Dogdog-Rakutak Normal Fault and Ciharus Sinistral Fault. Based on the temperature on CHR-1 well, Ciharus Prospect Area has good geothermal potential. But, based on geothermal potential evaluation guide, Ciharus Prospect Area's geothermal potential is not good enough according to the following criteria: volcanoes volume in Ciharus Prospect Area is less than 50 km3, Gumuk Ciharus has submature magma evolution, Gumuk Ciharus was relatively younger than Kamojang Crater, and Gumuk Ciharus had central eruption.

text
